Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (Pasdaran) have announced that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to all types of ships, warning that any ship attempting to pass through will be attacked and “set on fire.”
This step came after joint US and Israeli air strikes on Iran and increases tensions in the Middle East.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important energy trade routes in the world, through which a large portion of global oil passes, so its closure could affect international markets.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that Tehran is not at war with neighboring Gulf countries, but with the United States, following the latest attack.
He accused Washington of betraying diplomacy by carrying out airstrikes alongside Israel while negotiations were underway.
Araghchi stressed that US military bases in the region remain legitimate targets, adding that Iran is not attacking neighboring countries, but only US targets.
